Overview

Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group is a leader in soil stabilization and ground improvement services, specializing in lime, cement, and other soil treatment solutions that provide strong, reliable foundations for infrastructure and construction projects. Our success relies on precision fabrication, high-quality equipment, and skilled tradespeople to support field operations.

We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to work in our fabrication shop, producing, assembling, and repairing components and equipment used in soil stabilization projects.

Responsibilities

The Welder / Fabricator performs welding, metal fabrication, and assembly of equipment and structural components in the shop. This role ensures that all fabrication work meets company quality standards, technical specifications, and safety requirements.

The position works under the supervision of the Fabrication Shop Foreman and collaborates with maintenance and logistics teams to support project readiness.

 

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Welding

  • Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) on steel and other metals according to project specifications
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans to produce accurate components
  • Assemble and fit fabricated components into equipment, frames, and structural assemblies
  • Repair and maintain shop equipment and field machinery as needed

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets company quality standards and engineering specifications
  • Conduct inspections of finished work for accuracy, strength, and proper alignment
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shop

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with Fabrication Shop Foreman, Equipment Maintenance Leads, and logistics teams
  • Assist in material handling, inventory management, and preparation for project deployment
  • Support shop operations by helping with assembly, layout, and troubleshooting of components
  • Participate in training programs to improve welding and fabrication skills
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as a welder or fabricator, preferably in construction, industrial, or heavy equipment environments
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, hand and power tools, and shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods, bend, and reach overhead
  • Ability to work in hot, noisy, or dusty shop conditions
 

Work Environment

This position operates in the fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, heat, and shop machinery. The Welder / Fabricator ensures that all components, repairs, and assemblies are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule to support Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group projects.
