As a global leader in environmental solutions for the energy industry, we help capture and destroy over 90 million tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent every year. From oil and gas to biogas and renewables, our innovative tech and real time monitoring systems are making a real dent in global emissions. Headquartered in Houston, TX and operating in over 45 countries, we’re a team of engineers, problem solvers, and planet protectors who believe that sustainability and energy can go hand in hand. If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to work where your impact matters, Cimarron is the place for you!

The Role

The Welding Apprenticeship Program is a 90 day, part time training opportunity designed to bridge the gap between technical school completion and full time employment. This program provides hands on experience, structured mentorship, and skill development in a real world shop environment.

Apprentices will work closely with experienced welders to build proficiency in core welding processes, strengthen safety awareness, and demonstrate the reliability and professionalism required for long term success. This program allows participants to refine their technical abilities, gain exposure to company standards, and prove job readiness through performance and a final welding qualification test.

During the apprenticeship period, participants will:

  • Attend scheduled shifts (up to 30 hours per week) and maintain consistent punctuality and reliability
  • Work under the guidance of an assigned mentor to develop welding skills and practical experience
  • Assist with material preparation, joint fit up, welding, and finishing tasks
  • Practice and improve welding techniques across various processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux Cored)
  • Follow all company safety protocols, procedures, and quality standards at all times
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and weld symbols with increasing independence
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in technical skills, productivity, and accuracy
  • Accept coaching and feedback professionally and apply it to daily work
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and professional conduct

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
  • Have successfully completed a welding program from an accredited technical or trade school
    • Provide proof of program completion (certificate or transcript)
  • Meet all pre employment requirements, including background check, drug screen, and physical (as applicable)
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to build a career in welding and the skilled trades
  • Show willingness to learn, follow direction, and accept hands on coaching
  • Possess a safety first mindset and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Have basic knowledge of welding processes and shop practices
  • Be able to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, bending, etc.)

Nice to haves:
