Position Summary:
The Electrical Apprentice is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial construction projects. This role works under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician or Foreman and is designed to provide hands-on training and skill development in the electrical trade.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation of electrical systems in new construction, tenant upfits, and remodel projects
  • Support Journeyman Electricians with daily tasks and assigned work activities
  • Learn to measure, bend, and install conduit, including EMT and MC cable
  • Assist with wire installation, pulling wire, and operating basic equipment such as wire tuggers
  • Help install fixtures, outlets, switches, and other electrical devices
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with tool, equipment, and material accountability
  • Follow all company safety policies and utilize required PPE at all times
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop trade skills
  • Learn how to read and interpret blueprints and job drawings
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Meet productivity goals and project timelines as directed by leadership

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship program is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction environments preferred but not required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Good communication and time management skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments
  • Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and work in confined spaces as required
  • Ability to work in varying weather and job site conditions

Work Environment:
  • Field-based role working on active commercial construction job sites
  • Reports directly to a Journeyman Electrician or Foreman
