Job description

Job#: 3041163
Job Description:
Disaster Recovery - Senior Analyst
Location: Chicago, Illinois (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Disaster Recovery Senior Analyst to function as a program manager, leading efforts in standardizing and building governance practices for evolving DR standards. This role is pivotal in the transition to a more stable environment with a focus on zero downtime through modernization and investment. You will interface with numerous cross-functional teams to ensure the resilience and reliability of systems in a hybrid architecture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead CMDB and Discovery enablement by enhancing Application Impact Assessments (Tier, RTO, RPO, business function) and configuring automated discovery in ServiceNow for On-Prem and AWS environments.
  • Enable and validate dependency mapping via Dynatrace to support "blast radius" analysis and remediate data quality issues within the CMDB, including missing, stale, or incorrect CI relationships.
  • Review and remediate Disaster Recovery and CMDB documentation to align with governance and audit standards, ensuring it supports audit reviews and leadership oversight.
  • Define and document the On-Prem (NextGen) DR Standard, ensuring it aligns with modern resiliency principles and hybrid architecture.
  • Document SRE-aligned DR practices, as well as DevOps and automation practices.
  • Support monthly and quarterly DR metrics reporting, covering test outcomes, risks, and overall coverage.
  • Identify recurring CMDB and DR issues, recommend corrective actions, and support updates to DR templates, workflows, and ServiceNow processes.
  • Collaborate with DR, Architecture, SRE, and platform teams in an advisory and enablement capacity.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills: Experience with ServiceNow for CMDB and discovery, Dynatrace for dependency mapping, and familiarity with AWS and On-Prem environments. Proficient in application assessment and understanding of next-generation DR principles (active/active, active/hot).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications are considered beneficial but are not required.
Work Environment
  • This role will interface with internal teams, including a team of five consultants and three full-time employees (two analysts, one engineer), touching every cross-functional team.
  • This position is ideally based in Chicago; some travel may be required for candidates located elsewhere.
