Job Summary
The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for operating a Horizontal Directional Drill in accordance with OSHA guidelines. This position is responsible for safety and may direct the workflow of a crew over drilling operations. The Directional Bore operator is responsible for the safety and quality of the crew.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including the directional Drill.
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Confer with the Project Manager, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
  • Review and process damage claims.
  • Follow the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager.

Additional Qualifications
  • 1+ years of construction work experience
  • Understand all safety requirements per OSHA specifications.
  • A valid Driver's License is required
  • CDL-A preferred
  • Experience with the operation of Drills and/ or other Heavy equipment.

Working Conditions - Field environment, working in inclement weather; Flexibility of schedule.
