Job description

Do you want to do work that matters, alongside supportive leaders who will help you grow faster than you ever thought possible? Are you a creative problem-solver who is energized by challenges? You've come to the right place.
YOUR IMPACT
As a Capabilities & Insights (C&I) Analyst in the Digital & Technology Insights (DTi) team, you will be an integral part of McKinsey's client delivery engine, working side by side with consultants and experts to help organizations transform through data, technology, and digital innovation. You'll combine analytical rigor with business acumen to shape client recommendations, drive decision-making, and strengthen McKinsey's knowledge assets globally.
You'll often participate in team problem-solving discussions and, over time, contribute directly to client conversations - ensuring that insights are not just accurate, but actionable and strategically relevant.
You will be based in Lisbon, Portugal and you will play a pivotal role in guiding our consultants to leverage cutting-edge offerings, products, and insights to solve complex client challenges.
Your impact within our firm will be multifaceted, contributing to both client success and the advancement of our internal knowledge and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering DTi diagnostics, insights and products across the world, particularly on Technology Strategy and Productivity Performance topics, with a focus on clients in Europe.
In this exciting position, you will be at the intersection of technology, digital, AI and business, providing essential support to our client-service teams. You will engage with these teams to scope and prioritize project requests and business needs. You will clarify and scope objectives to determine the most appropriate offerings, insights, data, and products. This involves deploying standard offerings and products with minimal guidance, interpreting the outputs of these, and conducting medium-complexity data-driven analyses. Your ability to prepare accurate, well-developed documents, databases, models, solution outputs, and ready-to-use charts will be instrumental in driving client success.
Beyond client work, you will contribute to our knowledge, tech-enablement, and operational agenda. You will support the development and maintenance of databases, products, offerings and knowledge codification, working closely with senior colleagues on product development and knowledge creation initiatives. Your contributions will extend to client development efforts, such as creating client proposals and use-case examples that showcase our expertise. You will analyze data sets by developing scripts to validate, transform, and load data, creating insights that help drive our clients to action.
Over time, you will increasingly serve as a subject matter expert to McKinsey colleagues and our clients on digital, analytics, AI and technology topics, contributing to building our diagnostics, product development, and reach and relevance initiatives. Your journey at McKinsey will be one of continuous growth and development, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of industry advancements.
In a typical week, you might help a global bank assess its technology cost performance, support a retailer's technology transformation readiness assessment, or contribute to elevating our internal operational excellence leveraging GenAI solutions. No two projects are the same - and each offers a chance to create visible client impact through data and technology.
YOUR GROWTH
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World-class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering/IT, mathematics, electronics or related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in Information Technology field, either in industry/blue-chip company or IT consulting/advisory firm
  • Solid understanding of general business concepts and terminologies and proven problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with recent technological advancements such as GenAI/Agents and adaptability to work in an environment which is enabled by GenAI capabilities for day-to-day work
  • Excellent organizational capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion
  • Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; good problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to create product-focused materials/outputs, which would include PowerPoint decks, Excel models, etc
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
  • Professional attitude, intellectual curiosity, good team player, and customer service orientation
  • This role is based in our European office (Lisbon) with flexibility for hybrid work. You'll collaborate with global teams and may travel up to 10% of the time for clients or internal engagements
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
