As a contract team member, you'll be responsible for performing hands-on fiber optic splicing and testing in a fast-paced, field-based environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing in various environments.
  • Accurately read and interpret splice documentation and plans.
  • Use fusion splicing machines and OTDR testing tools to ensure fiber integrity.
  • Prepare cables and enclosures, and conduct troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed project logs and documentation for each job.
  • Work efficiently in both individual and team settings, ensuring quality control on all tasks.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Travel to job sites as required, often with overnight stays and weekend availability.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fiber splicing or related utility construction preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a motivated, self-starting attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly on the job.
