Work Location & Shifts: 280 Donovan, Stanley, VA 22851 | 2nd shift 4pm to 12:30am
Pay: The hourly pay rate for this position is $27 - $29 hour ($2/hr shift diff). + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Kirkwood and may not be applicable to other locations.

Overview
Under the general direction of the Plant Manager/Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for supporting various maintenance functions including but not limited to: troubleshooting running equipment, modifications to existing equipment, preventative and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Position will require flexible hours on the weekends. Must be able to work overtime.
Responsibilities
  • Strong, relentless and consistent focus on safety
  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and throughout facility
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Proven maintenance experience, such as repairs associated with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
  • Ability to check/read blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
  • Forklift, man lift and associated safety equipment experience, preferred
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
  • CNC equipment experiences preferred
  • Software and program loading experience preferred
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, follow up, and communication skills and extreme eye for detail
  • Strong time management skills, maintaining an active work list and timely completion of work items
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service
  • Follow all operational and safety SOP's as written

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance service
  • Electrical experience needed in 460/230 3 phase services, troubleshooting circuits, motor starters, lighting and control wiring
  • Pneumatic understanding or manufacturing machinery and general plumbing skills highly desirable
  • Must have experience with hydraulic pumps and piping
  • Ability to weld with mig and stick machine
  • Proper use of torch rig, electrical hand tools, grinders, drill motors, die grinders, porta band, and bench grinder
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work in high areas
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
  • The ability to work accurately, thoroughly and meet deadlines
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Technical education is a plus
  • This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and always be highly alert
