Job description

The CNC Machine Operator supports manufacturing operations by setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality precision components. This role is responsible for ensuring machining accuracy through in-process inspections, adherence to work instructions, and compliance with quality standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining high workmanship standards, while contributing positively to a team-oriented environment.
Location: Camden, NJ (On-site)
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Set up CNC mill and lathe machines and produce quality parts using provided programs, fixtures, and tool lists
  • Monitor machine feed rates and speeds during machining processes
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet tolerances and surface finish requirements
  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) to verify part accuracy
  • Set, manage, and monitor tooling, including tool life and wear
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations; GD&T knowledge is a plus
  • Work with a variety of metals and understand material characteristics
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship
  • Follow all work instructions and procedures within the quality management system
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and maintain a positive work approach

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or apprenticeship program preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of CNC machining experience required; 5+ years preferred
  • Experience operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes required
  • Experience with CNC programming and controls (Fanuc, HAAS preferred)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality procedures
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work in manufacturing or warehouse environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
