The Chemistry Lab Technician plays an essential role in creating a safe, organized, and engaging laboratory environment that supports hands-on learning across North Idaho College's Natural Sciences programs. Working closely with faculty and staff, you'll prepare chemistry and environmental science laboratories, assist with biology and other natural science labs as needed, and ensure students have the materials, equipment, and resources necessary for a successful learning experience. From setting up experiments and preparing solutions to maintaining laboratory equipment, managing chemical inventories, and coordinating hazardous waste handling, you'll help keep laboratory operations running safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional safety standards.

We're looking for someone who enjoys combining scientific knowledge with organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate understands laboratory operations, chemical handling, and proper storage and disposal procedures, and is comfortable following established safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and chemical hygiene practices. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you'll work closely with faculty, staff, and students to support instruction and student success. You'll also need to be comfortable using laboratory equipment, computer applications, and inventory systems while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment. If you're passionate about science, enjoy behind-the-scenes work that makes teaching and learning possible, and take pride in maintaining safe, well-equipped laboratory spaces, we'd love to have you join our Natural Sciences team.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from a four-year college or university and a minimum of one-year full-time related experience and/or training. 

Must complete required OSHA, EPA, Subpart K, Hazard Communication (GHS), Chemical hygiene, and institutional safety training.

Starting pay range: $23.17 - $26.64

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: typical college hours are Mon-Thurs 7:30-5:00, Fri 7:30-2:30
