What You'll Do as a Field Service Technician Apprentice
In this role, you will start your career at Globe being exposed to our machines by working in our assembly department. It is here where you will build our machinery gaining a solid foundation before going out into the field. Average apprenticeship timeline is between one and two years. Once your apprenticeship is complete, you will travel the globe as a field service technician.
This position is located in Tacoma, WA.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble machinery by studying assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists to prepare for builds.
  • Gather and organize components, including parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position and assemble parts by using templates and reading measurements for accuracy and proper fit.
  • Examine connections and verify specifications to ensure proper functionality.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings as required.
  • Inspect completed assemblies using measurement tools to confirm accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support assembly operations.

Supervised Responsibilities May Include:
  • Participate in assembly and testing of equipment prior to shipment.
  • Develop detailed plans for installation, startup, and commissioning, including scheduling, task management, and resource allocation.
  • Collect and organize technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and installation instructions for field use.
  • Study and understand system operations, including control's philosophy, speed setups, and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external project managers during field projects.
  • Provide repair and maintenance services for Globe-manufactured equipment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience using hand, power, and precision tools and gauges required.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manlifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, self-directed, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven reliability with an excellent attendance record.
  • Available to work overtime when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethical standards, and high-quality workmanship.
  • Must be able to obtain a Passport and Transportation Worker Identification (TWI) card.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
