JOB OPPORTUNITY

   JOB TITLE: School Counselor

   SITE OF POSITION: TBD

   TERMS AND HOURS OF POSITION: 7.5 hours per day

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

Supervised and evaluated by the site administrator, or other superintendent designee, the school counselor shall assure that identified students are supported; actions by the counselor shall be consistent with the district philosophy, goals, tenets, mission, and vision; and, shall honor confidentiality of students in the context of a school assignment.

TERM AND HOURS OF POSITION:  195 days, 7.5 hours per day. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's degree and Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing school counseling; successful teaching experience preferred.

Personal Qualities:  Genuine interest in student's academic, social, and emotional growth; be a person who is dedicated to the district's educational philosophy and goals; use of good judgment in working with children, teachers, parents, and others connected with the school; high recommendations from professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the candidate; ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health.

SALARY:    $92,892 - $121,981 plus $1,500 Master's Stipend, additional $2,750 Doctoral Stipend. 

Placement on the School Counselor Salary Schedule.
