Job description

Registered Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs therapeutic treatments, modalities, and tests on pulmonary patients; assists physician with invasive procedures; maintains equipment and supplies for areas of responsibility; functions overall as a team member to ensure smooth and efficient operations and patient flow; and is proficient in all modalities in the Pulmonary Function Lab.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assesses patient and record health history, v.s, performs testing as ordered (PFTs); collects specimens, properly labeling and documenting for lab; makes appropriate documentation as needed to patient charts for tests and procedures done; and, schedules diagnostic test referrals and specialists
  • Provides timely direct patient care; provides patient education instructions as necessary; and, screens patient's questions and concerns; consults Physician and returns calls
  • Prepares patients for procedures; assists pulmonary physicians with invasive medical procedures. Understands conscious sedation and is able to handle respiratory emergencies
  • Orders and stocks supplies; cleans and maintains equipment; and, properly handles and disposes of infectious waste
  • Clinical duties per department within scope of practice

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited college
  • State of California license for Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy
  • IV Certification
  • ACLS certification
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Respiratory Therapist
  • 1+ years of experience in treatment of patients in an outpatient setting

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $24.00 to $43.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
