Job Family : Travel Required : Clearance Required : What You Will Do:

As a Managing Consultant within Guidehouse's AI and Data practice, you will help utilities and energy providers evaluate and improve energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, distributed energy resource, and decarbonization programs. You will be responsible for designing analytical approaches, overseeing delivery teams, and serving as a technical leader on complex engagements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the design and execution of impact analyses and analytics-based studies for utility customer programs.
  • Lead teams of analysts and data scientists to deliver high-quality, defensible results.
  • Perform hands-on analysis for complex projects using large customer, program, billing, AMI, and operational datasets.
  • Review analytical methods, assumptions, code, and findings to ensure technical rigor and quality.
  • Translate analytical results into actionable insights and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, client relationships, and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to thought leadership and innovate evaluation approaches leveraging AI and advanced analytics.
  • Contribute to proposal development and business growth.
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in EM&V, utility customer programs, energy consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience leading evaluations of energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, or DER programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, clients, budgets, and teams.
  • Experience in one or more analytical tools and modern data platforms such as Python, R, Snowflake, Databricks.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Advanced degree in a related discipline.
  • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Experience with AMI, interval load analysis, or telemetry data.
  • Experience with demand flexibility, managed charging, VPP, DER, or electrification program evaluations.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, or similar visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications.
  • Experience supporting regulatory proceedings, proposals, or business development efforts.
