OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The CNC Machinist for our team is responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemen Controllers, including 3 and 5 axis. They will perform high quality-low volume machining of metal, composite, and graphite parts in an Aerospace Production environment. They are responsible for selecting and mounting tooling, determining feed and operating speeds, performing cut-off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and checking parts for dimensional accuracy. The Machinist must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, shop math, and the ability to transfer files from a computer to a numeric controller.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Set up and operate production machine tools.
  • Select and mount appropriate tooling for machining operations.
  • Determine the appropriate feed and operating speeds for efficient machining.
  • Perform cutting off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and other machining operations.
  • Verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand machining requirements.
  • Utilize shop math skills to perform calculations and ensure accurate machining processes.
  • Transfer computer files to the numeric controller to initiate machining operations.
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper functioning.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams.
