Job description
Purpose and Impact:
This position is contingent upon award of contract, business needs, and funding availability. We are seeking a Mid-level Operations Research / Systems Analyst (ORSA) to support Air Force and NSA cryptologic missions, delivering decision advantage through the application of quantitative analysis, intelligence tradecraft, and interdisciplinary methodologies. This position directly supports senior leadership by translating complex operational, cryptologic, and intelligence data into actionable insights for strategic, operational, and tactical decision-making.
The ORSA will design, develop, and apply mathematical models, statistical analysis, data mining techniques, modeling & simulation, and decision analytics to address mission-critical challenges across intelligence, ISR, and electromagnetic spectrum operations. This role requires independent analytic execution, collaboration across the Intelligence Community (IC), and the ability to translate complex or fragmented data into clear, decision-ready insights for operational leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Apply decision analytics, statistical analysis, data mining, and modeling & simulation techniques to address operational and planning challenges.
- Provide cryptologic analysis leveraging knowledge of Air Force airborne cryptologic operations, SIGINT resource management, and MAJCOM/NSA multi-INT capabilities.
- Develop analytic products that integrate multi-source intelligence and interdisciplinary methodologies.
- Structure and conduct analysis based on incomplete, complex, or indirect information, incorporating trends, patterns, and multiple analytic perspectives.
- Support long-term strategic planning of cryptologic operations and initiatives.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, modeling, simulation, and assessment of complex systems
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and performance indicators
- Collaborate with analysts, planners, engineers, and subject matter experts across disciplines
- Safeguard classified information and comply with all DoD, Air Force, and IC policies and procedures
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:The position supports sensitive operations and demands strict adherence to IC analytic standards, information security requirements, and professional ethics.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Advanced proficiency in operations research, systems analysis, or applied analytics methods
- Understanding of ISR operations and intelligence cycles, SIGINT and multi-INT integration, and cyber and electronic warfare environments
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into clear, defensible conclusions
- Experience in applying analytic methodologies, including trend analysis and multi-source integration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent analysis and contribute to team-based problem solving
- Proficiency with standard analytic and productivity tools
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to comply with all DoD, Air Force, and IC security and conduct standards
- Ability to complete and maintain required training throughout contract performance
- Availability to support CONUS and OCONUS missions as required
- Responsible for maintaining qualifications and training unless Government-directed
Security Clearance Required:
- TS/SCI eligibility with a favorable Tier 5 (T5) investigation. Some positions may require successful completion of a CI-scope polygraph examination.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or related field or a associate's degree plus 4 additional years of expert-level experience (for a total of 10 years' experience in lieu of a Master's degree).
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 6 years of experience conducting operations research, intelligence analysis, or related analytic work with relevant experience (within the last 2 years) in defense, intelligence, ISR, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of NSA and IC analytic frameworks
- Prior experience supporting NSA or Air Force ISR operations
- Experience with advanced analytics tools (Python, R, MATLAB, etc.)
- Familiarity with intelligence or operational planning processes
- Experience briefing senior military or civilian leaders
