Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intern is responsible for learning from, and working with, the Inventory, Medical Education, and Sales teams to build a strong foundation for medical device sales. The Intern will spend much of their time working with the inventory team in the local warehouse, and assisting with labs at the direction of the Medical Education Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Primarily responsible for learning the ins and outs of the medical device sales industry by becoming immersed in the Arthrex and Smoky Mountain Surgical โ€œwhyโ€
  • Represent Smoky Mountain Surgical, an independent agency authorized to sell Arthrex products, by working with our representatives and helping them better serve our customers. Arthrex is a world-class leader in the orthopedic industry.
  • Build understanding of trays and implants by assisting the inventory team in building and filling trays, stocking, and ordering inventory, and learning how the Redspot Inventory Management System works.
  • Be willing and available to deliver trays and implants to hospitals, surgery centers, and storage units when necessary.
  • Assist Medical Education team in setting up and cleaning up local labs.
  • Attend local labs, when possible, to gain understanding of procedures and surgeon relationships.
  • Be willing to work on projects at the direction of the Inventory and/or MedEd Team.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s degree program.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid driverโ€™s license.
  • A willingness and ability to travel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
