Application Support Engineer

Location: Coppell, Texas

Role Overview

This position is for a Senior Associate level Application Support Engineer. The role involves providing Enterprise Application Support (EAS) for business-critical applications, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and compliance with established service level objectives. The successful candidate will resolve application incidents, support deployments, and collaborate with various teams to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Enterprise Application Support (EAS) for business-critical applications, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and compliance with established service level objectives.
  • Resolve critical application alerts and production incidents in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and business impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with business, development, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to troubleshoot and elevate application issues.
  • Execute and support pre-production and production application deployments, vendor application upgrades, and change management activities.
  • Leverage Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployments, release management, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Utilize Git and Bitbucket for source code management activities, including reviewing repositories, managing branches, and analyzing code changes.
  • Monitor application health, investigate system performance issues, analyze logs, and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations and incident response activities, including high-severity production incidents.
  • Execute Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures and validation testing during planned exercises.
  • Validate and provide responses to requests for information associated with audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Application Support, Enterprise Application Support (EAS), Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related technology support function.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Bitbucket, repository management, branching strategies, and version control best practices.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Experience with application monitoring, alerting, log analysis, and performance management tools.
  • Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, change management, and release management practices.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based, SaaS, and on-premises applications in production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise software platforms and business-critical applications in Financial Services or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of OpenShift/Kubernetes, ServiceNow, Splunk, Dynatrace, or PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting technologies such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting DevOps-enabled environments and CI/CD practices.
