Job description

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Security Analyst II is responsible for advancing the organization's IT security posture by leading the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive security measures. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, proposing improvements, and providing strategic input to IT security planning. The Security Analyst II works collaboratively across departments to mitigate cyber threats and ensure compliance with industry standards. As a senior team member, this role mentors junior analysts and acts as a point of escalation for complex security issues.

This role will be located on-site at the Chattanooga Corporate Headquarters location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary lead in investigating and responding to security breaches, including forensic analysis and coordination with external agencies when necessary.
  • Enhance and manage the organization’s security architecture, including advanced monitoring systems, intrusion detection, and response capabilities
  • Lead threat-hunting activities and proactively identify and mitigate potential security threats across the enterprise network
  • Coordinate security incident response efforts, including investigation, mitigation, and post-incident analysis
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of security processes, incident reports, and risk assessments.
  • Design and deliver advanced training programs for staff on emerging security threats, compliance requirements, and organizational security protocols
  • Oversee the configuration and maintenance of enterprise-level security tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to evaluate and recommend security investments and solutions to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Research and recommend emerging security technologies and strategies to enhance protection against evolving threats.
  • Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, including advanced roles.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CISM, CASP+, or CCSP required.
  • Demonstrated experience with incident response, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and application security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex technical information.
