Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing transportation projects for local municipalities or FDOT, including planning, design, and permitting. This position offers the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary projects that improve mobility, safety, and infrastructure in our communities.

Your Responsibilities as a Transportation Project Manager:

  • Manage the design and delivery of transportation projects for local and regional government clients, including roadway, sidewalk, intersection, and multimodal improvements.
  • Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects—responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and client coordination.
  • Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in accordance with FDOT and local standards.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, utility providers, and permitting authorities.
  • Conduct and/or oversee traffic analysis, safety studies, and roadway geometry design.
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ Years experience in civil / transportation engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Demonstrated experience in project management for municipal or county transportation projects.
  • Working knowledge of FDOT standards, the Florida Design Manual (FDM), MUTCD, and local agency design criteria.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation / OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead client interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Local Agency Program (LAP) projects or FDOT coordination.
  • Familiarity with grant-funded transportation projects (e.g., CDBG, SCOP, SCRAP )
  • Experience developing cost estimates and managing subconsultants.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
