This involves configuring, customizing, and bundling the application files, settings, and dependencies into a standardized package format, such as MSI or App-V, to ensure smooth installation and compatibility across multiple computers. Application packaging helps streamline software deployment, minimize errors, and simplify updates or uninstalls. It is commonly used by IT departments to manage large-scale software rollouts efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an application packaging specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Application Packaging Specialist, you need expertise in software deployment, scripting (such as PowerShell or VBScript), and a solid understanding of Windows operating systems, commonly supported by relevant IT certifications like Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations and transition planning meetings.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with government departments and community partners to facilitate efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure all records comply with organizational policies, privacy legislation, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
  • Track client outcomes, application status, service statistics, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for program improvement.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, file reviews, and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Remain current with changes to legislation, government policies, and best practices related to Guardianship and Trusteeship.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and organizational initiatives.

  • Experience supporting families through legal, government, or disability service systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Alberta's Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act and related legislation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in case management, service coordination, transition planning, or systems navigation is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Alberta disability services, including PDD, FSCD, AISH, and other community supports.
