Job description

Title: Forklift Driver - Standup Operator

Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Hamlet, NC

Department: Materials

Reports To: Materials Manager

Job Summary

The Material Handler/Forklift Operator will ensure safe and accurate movement and storage of raw components and finished goods. and shipment utilizing equipment, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts. They will be required to complete all responsibilities in accordance with SOX Compliance Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, or other equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud Application or willingness to learn
  • Experience with RF-Smart Scan Gun and Zebra Printer
  • Background in Rack ID Processes with aisle locations and sub-inventories.
  • Responsible for picking and putting away raw components from RACK ID locations daily.
  • Comply with all safety processes and procedures for safe operation of the equipment.
  • Complete Daily Inspections for PIT using the WIP and I-Warehouse applications.
  • Transport parts safely and efficiently from the staging area to the designated rack location.
  • Good housekeeping habits: cleaning up the work area, sweeping, and disposing of trash.
  • Store parts in locations in a neat and orderly way while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Read and learn part numbers, carton information, and drawings.
  • Inspect merchandise for damaged material and/or packaging and report to the quality team.
  • Practice and influence 5S Initiatives in work tasks.

Requirements:

  • Must have good communication skills and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and stoop throughout shift.
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and programs, including safety rules and regulations
  • Communicate with support teams to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Performs related duties as assigned, which include cross-functional areas.
  • Consistently deliver the best in customer service. As an employee, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with customers, visitors, and other employees

  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment starts up and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Stand up Forklift Operator: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Ability to lift 5 - 50 lbs. and push/pull 40 - 50 lbs.

License/Certification:

  • Certified Forklift Operator (Preferred)
