Job description

Warehouse Forklift Operator

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accurately removes and stocks product, customer's product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
  • Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
  • Loads and unload trucks and verifies that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
  • Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
  • Completes cycle Counts.
  • Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
  • Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
  • Performs general clean up.
  • Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
  • Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.
  • Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
  • Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements:

  • Use of handheld measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
