POLICE OFFICER APPLICANTS

The City of Clairton is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police

Officer for the purpose of creating an eligibility list. Application form is available at

the City offices which are open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The application form can

be e-mailed to you by contacting the City Manager at Manager@cityofclairton.com.

Deadline for submission of applications is Monday, April 27 th , 2026 at 10:00 a.m.,

prevailing time. Completed applications and any required supporting

documentation are to be delivered to the following:

All applications must be in a sealed envelope marked:

City of Clairton – Police Officer Application

The following requirements are necessary of each interested applicant, having filed

on the official application form prescribed by the City of Clairton.

- At the date of application, the applicant shall not be less than twenty-one

(21) years of age.

- A diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency

diploma (GED).

- Be a citizen of the United States of America and be eligible to legally operate a

motor vehicle in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

- Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a Police officer for the

Clairton Police Department as determined by the physical and psychological

testing.

- Be Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training

Act (Act 120), (MPOETC) 53 Pa. C.S.A. 2161 et seq. or has successfully completed

Act 120 training and passed the final exam at the time of application.

The examination process for the position of Police Officer shall consist of the

following: Physical Agility test, Written Examination, Oral Examination,

Background Check, Medical and Psychological Examination. THE PHYSICAL

AGILITY, WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAMS WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, MAY

6 TH , 2026 BEGINNING AT 9:00 AM. No formal dress needed for oral examination.

Start at $35.91 per hour with health, dental, vision and life insurance. 12 hour shifts

with holiday pay and OIC pay.
