EFC International is a global leader in specialty fastening solutions, partnering with customers across automotive, construction, and industrial markets. We are currently seeking an Application Engineering Intern to join our team and support innovative, customer-focused engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Application Engineering Intern will support the design, evaluation, and application of fastening solutions across a variety of industries and customer applications. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering processes, customer collaboration, and technical problem-solving while assisting senior application engineer and leadership. The intern will gain practical experience in product design, testing, and technical support within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support application engineering team with CAD modeling, drawings, and documentation for fastener products.
  • Aid in translating customer requirements into preliminary engineering recommendations.
  • Assist application engineers in the identification of parts, based on customer specifications, from EFCโ€™s product portfolio.
  • Assist in evaluating customer requirements and supporting the development of fastening solutions for OEMs, Tier suppliers, and distribution partners.
  • Participate in customer design reviews, technical meetings, and internal project discussions.
  • Help prepare technical presentations, product documentation, and engineering reports.
  • Assist with product testing, validation efforts, and data collection under supervision.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of fastening applications.
  • Contribute to maintaining engineering standards, specifications, and product data.
  • Assist with technical training materials and support internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Conduct research on industry standards, materials, and competitive products.
  • Support RFQ preparation, technical proposals, and quotation activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and customer service.
