Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Financial Services & Controller, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Athletics, this position serves as a member of the Athletics Executive Leadership Team and plays a critical role in shaping the department's financial strategy, operational priorities, and long-term success. Working collaboratively with the Director of Athletics, UNLV Chief Financial Officer, UNLV Controller, coaches, and campus leadership, the Executive Associate Athletics Director develops, implements, and oversees the department's annual operating budget, long-range financial planning, and day-to-day business operations. The position provides strategic financial analysis and guidance to support informed decision-making while ensuring responsible stewardship of university resources. The position also oversees cash management, financial reporting, contract administration, and fiscal forecasting to ensure the department's continued financial health and sustainability. The Executive Associate Athletics Director leads all business and financial operations in accordance with university, state, NCAA, Mountain West Conference, and other applicable policies and regulations. The position is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, minimizing audit risk, ensuring compliance with applicable financial standards, and continuously evaluating business processes to improve operational efficiency, customer service, and organizational effectiveness. As a senior leader within the department, the Executive Associate Athletics Director will collaborate across athletics and the university on strategic initiatives, institutional committees, and cross-functional projects that advance the mission of UNLV Athletics. The position serves as the department's primary liaison with key university financial and administrative offices, including Budget, Financial Services, Purchasing, Foundation, and other campus partners. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through participation in NCAA, NACDA, Mountain West Conference, and university leadership programs and committees. The Executive Associate Athletics Director provides leadership and supervision for the Athletics Business Office, fostering a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous improvement, and professional development while ensuring the efficient and compliant delivery of financial operations.
