Job Function:

The Robotics Field Application Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical expertise to deploy, optimize, and support robotic applications. This role will ensure systems are fully operational, efficient, and meet customer performance expectations while acting as a key interface between customers and internal teams.

Reports to:

Robotics Head of Services, NA

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Field Application & Customer Support
    • Provide on-site programming, setup, and integration support
    • Troubleshoot robotic systems and resolve issues
    • Optimize performance to meet cycle time and quality targets
    • Support commissioning and validation
    • Provide remote technical support via phone and email to diagnose issues, guide customers, and ensure timely resolution
    • Respond to customer inquiries and support requests, ensuring clear communication and high service quality
  • Application Development & Optimization
    • Develop and modify robot programs
    • Implement solutions with vision, tracking, and safety systems
    • Customize applications to customer needs
    • Ensure performance and reliability
  • Training & Knowledge Transfer
    • Deliver customer and partner training
    • Ensure proper understanding and usage of systems
    • Support training material development
  • Reporting & Process Discipline
    • Document activities in CRM
    • Provide technical reports
    • Track project progress
  • Collaboration & Improvement
    • Work with internal teams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in robotics or industrial automation
  • Strong robot programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Strong communication and customer interaction skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Structured text programming experience (C , C++, Python …)
  • Experience with industrial fieldbus systems
  • Experience with vision systems and conveyor tracking applications
  • Multilingual (Spanish)
  • Experience working with system integrators or OEMs

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods sitting at a desk or standing and working on a computer
  • Periods traveling in automobiles, planes
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
  • Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipment

Work schedule:

  • Willingness to travel as required both domestically and internationally (up to 75%)
  • This position will report to the Duncan, SC office.
