POSITION:                       Friday Club Preschool Teacher Part-Time / Weekly      

LOCATION:                       Allen Early Learning Academy

JOB SUMMARY:

The Friday Club Preschool Teacher is a dedicated, creative, and experienced early childhood educator responsible for designing and leading the "Friday Preschool Club" program. This unique role is perfect for an educator who has passions for hands-on, play-based learning and wishes to lead a dynamic, weekly enrichment program.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of early childhood development, a warm and engaging teaching style, and the ability to work independently to plan and execute a high-quality weekly curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS:

     Education & Experience

-   Required: Demonstrated experience working in an early childhood education setting.

-   Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child

Development, or a related field; or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

     Skills & Abilities

-   Strong knowledge of early childhood development milestones and best practices.

-   Excellent classroom management skills tailored for preschool-aged children.

-   Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young learners.

-   Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-   Ability to work independently and reliably every Friday.

     Certifications & Background Checks

-   Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and fingerprinting.

-   Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

     Curriculum Planning & Preparation

-   Design, develop, and implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum for the Friday

Preschool Club.

    -   Utilize the weekly 1-hour planning time to prep materials, outline lesson plans, and organize classroom activities.

    -   Incorporate diverse learning modalities, including sensory play, arts and crafts, music, movement, storytelling, and outdoor exploration.

    Classroom Instruction & Management

-   Lead classroom instruction and activities on Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

    -   Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

    -   Employ positive guidance and behavior management strategies that support social-emotional development.

    -   Manage transitions smoothly throughout the day (e.g., arrival, snack time, circle time, lunch, quiet time, and dismissal).

   Student Safety & Well-being

-   Supervise students at all times, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.

     -   Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

    -   Assist children with personal care needs (e.g., toileting, handwashing, and mealtime clean-up) as needed.

   Communication & Collaboration

    -   Provide parents and guardians with brief, positive updates on their child's participation and weekly themes.

    -   Collaborate with school administration to ensure program alignment with school-wide policies and safety procedures.

REPORTS TO:                              Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Education

HOURS / SCHEDULE:                   Part-Time / Weekly

                                               Schedule:  Fridays, 8:00 AM  3:30 PM (7 hours on-site)

                                               Planning Time:  1 hour of paid planning time per week

                                               Total Weekly Hours:  8 hours per week

RATE OF PAY:                               $22.10 Per Hour  

BEGINNING DATE:                      26/27 School Year

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
