Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Mid-Level .NET Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable web applications using ASP.NET technologies. This is a hands-on development role that participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and support. A key focus of this role is building and maintaining secure applications in compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulatory and organizational security standards. This ideal candidate is a detail-oriented developer with 3-6 years of experience in .NET development, a strong commitment to code quality, and the ability to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions in a team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor Pages, MVC, and Web API.
  • Implement business and technical requirements by building secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions following established architectural patterns.
  • Develop and enhance responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies to deliver an intuitive, user-centered experience.
  • Apply secure coding practices to prevent common vulnerabilities (e.g., input validation, authentication/authorization, OWASP Top 10).
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schemas in Microsoft SQL Server, following best practices for performance and data integrity.
  • Implement audit logging and monitoring to track system activity and access to sensitive data while safeguarding protected information and data confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements, define functionality, QA, troubleshoot issues, and deliver user-centric solutions. Utilize Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for source control, branching, automated deployments, and work item tracking in Azure Boards.
  • Support the modernization of legacy systems, including migration to .NET Core and cloud-enabled architectures.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy standards, and organizational security policies in all development activities.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in .NET development using C# and ASP.NET, with hands-on experience in ASP.NET Core, MVC, and Web API for building secure, scalable web applications.
  • Strong front-end development skills, including practical experience with Razor Pages, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web development best practices.
  • Microsoft SQL Server expertise, including writing optimized SQL queries, developing stored procedures and triggers, and applying sound database design principles such as normalization, indexing, and relational modeling.
  • Solid understanding of secure coding practices, including input validation, output encoding, secure authentication/authorization patterns, and mitigation of common vulnerabilities aligned with OWASP guidelines.
  • Experience implementing audit logging and monitoring, particularly in systems handling sensitive or regulated data.
  • Experience with Git and familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar platforms for source control, work tracking, and automated deployments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with reporting and data teams to support data integration, analytics, and business intelligence needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, data accuracy, and a focus on accuracy.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience developing or supporting applications in HIPAA-regulated or other highly secure, compliance-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (1AM) concepts and tools, such as ASP.NET Core Identity and Azure AD (Entra ID).
  • Experience implementing or supporting single sign-on (SSO) solutions across web applications using enterprise identity providers.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs, as well as integrating with internal and third-party systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on professional experience in software development demonstrating strong technical capability.
