Financial Analyst II
FT / PT Status - Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
This is a working-level position performed under general supervision. Incumbents complete
professional assignments involving accounting, bank reconciliations, financial analysis, and
reporting in accordance with established guidelines, policies, regulations, and generally
accepted accounting principles.
Duties include:
  • Preparing and analyzing financial records
  • Statements, reconciliations, and reports;
  • Researching discrepancies;
  • Identifying issues and recommending solutions;
  • Supporting audits; and assisting with financial system improvements.

Example of Tasks
  • Manages accounting activities and records financial transactions in Vantage.
  • Researches and reviews financial records, returned checks, discrepancies, reports, and
    other problem areas.
  • Prepares, develops, and interprets fiscal statements and reports.
  • Reconciles bank statements and financial reports.
  • Reviews fiscal operations to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Analyzes, summarizes, and reviews financial data; reports findings, interprets results, and
    makes recommendations.

Salary
Employees are hired for this position the starting salary $20.64 (Financial Analyst I) up to $22.98 (Financial Analyst II), depending on experience. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for
current state employees.
Hybrid Work Schedule
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. You are required to work in office two days a week, If working at a location other than in a state office, this position requires the employee to provide internet service that is of sufficient speed to support all work-related applications, systems, and devices.
Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accounting, banking practices, financial reporting, mathematics, and English
    language principles.
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and communicate financial information
    effectively through written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, problem-solving,
    reasoning, data analysis, and applying accounting principles to identify issues and recommend
    solutions.
  • Requires the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, maintain
    accurate records, and communicate clearly with others.
  • A high school diploma is required;
  • Additional education or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field may be preferred.
