Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, Renewable Engineering.
2-3 years of experience in Electric, Gas, Water/Wastewater, or Renewable Operations.
3-5 years of experience in Computer Systems.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project Management, and Outlook).
Engineer in Training (EIT) with Current Registration or Professional Engineer (PE) desired.
Requires a Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Performs varied engineering functions in support of the design, construction and operation and maintenance of Electric, Natural Gas, Water/Wastewater, or Renewable systems.
Develops construction plans, specifications, cost analysis requests for proposals and other contract documents.
Work collaboratively with various outside entities on projects, including contractors, consultants, developers, architects, engineering firms, other departments and/or divisions.
Performs project management and construction supervision for capital, O&M and emergency projects.
Prepare comprehensive special engineering studies, reports and plans.
Develops and maintains system operations database information files.
Reviews reports, plans and infrastructure design by outside agencies.
Responds to district request to assist and address system operation and maintenance issues.
Monitors system operations for regulatory compliance. Prepares remedial action plans. Response to regulatory agency inquires and correspondence. Tracks progress and prepares project update reports as required.
Performs technical research to develop solutions to engineering problems associated with a specific utility.
Participates in general public meetings and awareness programs. Responds to outside agency requests, customer inquiries and complaints.
Establishes standards for the overall design including transmission, distribution and modification or upgrading of specific utilities.
Participate in the preparation and administration of annual Capital and O&M budgets. Maintain budget and project status reporting systems.
Identify outside funding sources and opportunities. Provides information and data to complete funding application processes. Track funding application processes.
Perform related duties as required.
