GEON Performance Solutions has an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician for the Terre Haute, IN facility.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is part of the team responsible for maintaining the assets of the manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of general industrial plant preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
Essential Functions
  • Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation. Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective parts.
  • Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder. etc. Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment. * Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
  • Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.
  • Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.
  • Research supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.
  • Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
  • Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.
  • Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
  • Follows applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprentice program, Associates degree in industrial manufacturing with 3 years field experience or 5 years' experience in maintenance in an industrial maintenance department preferred.
โ€ข Training and Experience in troubleshooting motor controls, troubleshooting field devices through PLCs, removing, replacing, and aligning motors, gearboxes, bearings etc.
โ€ข Training and experience in other fields of maintenance such as plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, welding, forklift repair, etc. Competent PC (MS Office and Windows) computer skills desired.

โ€ข Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. The ability to climb, kneel, crawl through openings, and work in tight spaces and at heights, reach, grab and lift, pull, push is necessary.
โ€ข Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
โ€ข Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
