VP Supply Corp is one of the nation’s largest distributors of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies. We have over 350 employees with 15 locations across Western New York and Pennsylvania. For over 50 years, we have proudly served residential customers as well as contractors and municipalities across a variety of industries.


Position Overview:


Our Warehouse Department is seeking to hire an Appliance Delivery Driver with 1-3 years of experience driving 26 ft box trucks and installing appliances to join our Rochester branch. Note, no CDL is required for this position.


The Schedule for this position has a bit of variation day to day, but will be Monday - Friday within the hours of 6 AM - 4:30 PM (depending on the delivery schedule).


We are looking for high performers who are forward-looking, innovative, enthusiastic, and ambitious team players. Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with superb judgment and communication skills, a commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and logs routes for morning and afternoon delivery trucks, with focus on delivery time commitments.
  • Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads.
  • Move skids using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, and lift gate.
  • Deliver and install appliances with a partner using tools and a dolly.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork from the day's work including, vendor pick-ups, customer returns, inter-branch transfers, and truck logs.
  • Provide information to Dispatcher throughout the day, such as delivery times, signature capture, picture capture and package refusals.
  • Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleaned daily at the end of every shift.
  • Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections.
  • Serve as warehouse back-up on an as needed basis.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience driving a 26’ box truck, or similar vehicle.
  • 1-3 years of appliance delivery & installation. Ability to deliver appliances using a dolly, with a helper.
  • Ability to use hand tools to install appliances such as refrigerators, gas & electric stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of tools, water lines, gas lines, power lines, etc. as they relate to appliances.
  • Territorial knowledge of Monroe County and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck, using side steps.
  • Must be able to undergo a motor vehicle and background check.
  • Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This job requires flexibility in hours from 6AM until daily deliveries are complete. This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50 – 75 pounds.
