Description
As Cybersecurity Counsel, you will serve as trusted legal advisor to Apple’s security engineering and architecture teams, providing guidance on cybersecurity related aspects of Apple’s hardware, software and services. This role will report through the Privacy Legal team and will offer the opportunity to work directly with key members of the cybersecurity, business, engineering and legal teams on a variety of cutting-edge projects.","responsibilities":"Serving as primary legal advisor to cybersecurity teams protecting Apple’s hardware, software and services
Advising Apple’s threat intelligence teams, including on analysis, and sharing of threat data
Tracking and analyzing evolving global cybersecurity regulations and standards, and working with regulatory and product legal teams to advise the business on compliance obligations
Partnering with policy teams to evaluate, shape, and respond to proposed cybersecurity legislation, regulatory guidance, and industry standards that affect Apple’s hardware products
Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal cybersecurity policies, governance frameworks, and compliance programs
Responding to cybersecurity and privacy incidents
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising on cybersecurity issues related to hardware, software and services
Experience with best practices related to threat intelligence and cybersecurity related investigations
Able to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications
Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity
Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating legal advice on complex issues
Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments
Ability to multi-task across diverse business units and geographical boundaries
Strong analytical capability with attention to detail
Ability to partner at all levels of the organization
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience (either at a law firm, government agency, non-governmental organization, and/or in-house) in cybersecurity or privacy law
Deep knowledge of cybersecurity laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards
JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $204,700 and $307,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
