La technologie ELYSIS represente la plus grande avancee dans l'industrie de l'aluminium depuis 1886. Des efforts sont presentement deployes afin de perfectionner cette nouvelle facon revolutionnaire de produire de l'aluminium, qui elimine le dioxyde de carbone et toutes les autres emissions de gaz a effet de serre du procede conventionnel d'electrolyse.

Afin de renforcer durablement notre presence RH terrain, ELYSIS souhaite recruter une Conseillerere RH principale, profil senior, basee au Saguenay. Ce role agit comme partenaire RH de proximite aupres des leaders du site, en etroite collaboration avec le DRH et l'equipe RH basee a Montreal.

Le poste s'inscrit dans un environnement operationnel exigeant, ou la qualite du jugement RH, la capacite d'influence et la prevention des risques humains sont des leviers cles de stabilite, de performance et de maturite organisationnelle.

Apropos du poste

En tant que RH senior, vous etes la porte d'entree RH principale pour les leaders du site. Vous exercez un jugement RH autonome et experimente, agissez comme referente de confiance et intervenez directement sur les situations humaines a fort niveau de complexite.

Dans votre perimetre, vous disposez d'une autonomie decisionnelle reelle sur les interventions RH terrain, dans le cadre des orientations etablies en partenariat etroit avec le DRH.

Le role est resolument oriente valeur ajoutee terrain, coaching des leaders et impact humain durable. Il n'est pas centre sur l'execution administrative ou transactionnelle des processus RH standards, ceux-ci etant coordonnes par l'equipe RH basee a Montreal.

Activites principales / Responsabilites

Partenaire RH Senior et point d'entree - Saguenay

  • Agir comme point de contact RH principal pour l'ensemble des leaders du site.
  • Cadrer, prioriser et orienter les enjeux RH du site en exercant un jugement RH senior, aligne avec les orientations organisationnelles.
  • Determiner, en collaboration avec le DRH lorsque requis, le niveau d'intervention approprie : intervention directe, accompagnement des leaders ou activation des leviers RH organisationnels.
  • Assurer une interface fluide, credible et influente entre les leaders du site et la fonction RH globale.

Coaching des leaders et gestion de situations complexes

  • Coacher les leaders dans leurs decisions humaines et leurs conversations difficiles, avec une posture de partenaire exigeante, constructifve et respectee.
  • Intervenir directement sur les dossiers a haut niveau de complexite ou de sensibilite.

Prevention des risques humains et maturite organisationnelle

  • Maintenir une lecture proactive du climat de travail et des signaux faibles sur le site.
  • Contribuer a la stabilite, a la previsibilite et a la coherence de l'environnement de travail.
  • Favoriser des interventions en amont, visant a prevenir les escalades et a elever la maturite manageriale du site.
  • Agir comme acteurrice d'influence positive, au-dela de la seule gestion des risques.

Strategies locales de main-d'uvre et transformations

  • Apporter une lecture terrain structuree et formuler des recommandations sur la flexibilite et l'evolution de la main-d'uvre.
  • Soutenir les leaders dans l'anticipation et la gestion des impacts humains lies aux transformations a venir.
  • Escalader au DRH les enjeux necessitant des arbitrages structurants ou transverses, en fournissant une analyse claire des risques, options et impacts humains.

Sante psychologique et bien-etre

  • Agir comme co-lead RH, en collaboration avec l'equipe SSE, pour le perimetre du Saguenay.
  • Soutenir les leaders dans la gestion de situations sensibles liees a la sante psychologique et au bien-etre des equipes.
  • Contribuer aux reflexions sur la soutenabilite du rythme operationnel et les leviers de prevention.

Contribution aux processus RH organisationnels

  • Contribuer aux cycles RH transverses (culture, performance, talents, succession, remuneration, engagement) en apportant :
  • une lecture terrain realiste;
  • une evaluation des enjeux humains et de retention ;
  • une perspective pragmatique sur l'applicabilite locale.

A New Era for the Aluminium Industry - ELYSIS

The ELYSIS technology is the greatest breakthrough in the aluminium industry since its beginnings in 1886. Work is underway now to further develop this revolutionary new way to produce aluminium, eliminating carbon dioxide and all other greenhouse gas emissions from the traditional smelting process.

The ELYSIS process eliminates the use of carbon anodes, replacing those with proprietary materials. It is the first industrial process that emits oxygen as its by-product and has the potential to transform an entire industry.

In 2018, two international aluminium producers, Alcoa and Rio Tinto, came together to form the ELYSIS joint venture with the provincial government of Quebec. With support from the Canadian Government and Apple, the technology is progressing and is currently being designed to support the construction of new smelters or retrofits.

ELYSIS is headquartered in Montreal, with Technology Research & Development locations in Alma, Quebec, (Canada), in Jonquiere, Quebec, (Canada), in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, (United States), and in France.

Context

To sustainably strengthen our on-site HR presence, ELYSIS is looking to recruit a Senior HR Advisor based in Saguenay. This role acts as a close HR partner to site leaders, working in close collaboration with the HR Director and the HR team based in Montreal.

The position operates in a demanding operational environment, where sound HR judgment, the ability to influence, and the prevention of people-related risks are key drivers of stability, performance, and organizational maturity.

About the Role

As a senior HR professional, you are the primary HR point of contact for site leaders. You exercise autonomous and experienced HR judgment, act as a trusted advisor, and intervene directly in complex and sensitive people situations.

Within your scope, you have real decision-making autonomy regarding on-site HR interventions, aligned with organizational guidelines and in close partnership with the HR Director.

This role is strongly focused on value-added field impact, leadership coaching, and sustainable human outcomes. It is not centered on administrative or transactional HR processes, as these are coordinated by the Montreal-based HR team.

Key Responsibilities

Senior HR Partner & Main Point of Contact - Saguenay

  • Act as the primary HR contact for all site leaders.
  • Frame, prioritize, and guide HR matters using senior-level judgment aligned with organizational direction.
  • Determine, in collaboration with the HR Director when needed, the appropriate level of intervention: direct involvement, leader coaching, or activation of broader HR levers.
  • Ensure a smooth, credible, and influential interface between site leaders and the global HR fonction.

Leadership Coaching & Complex Case Management

  • Coach leaders in people-related decisions and difficult conversations with a firm, constructive, and respected partnership approach.
  • Intervene directly in highly complex or sensitive cases.

Human Risk Prevention & Organizational Maturity

  • Maintain a proactive understanding of workplace climate and early warning signals on-site.
  • Contribute to a stable, predictable, and consistent work environment.
  • Promote upstream interventions to prevent escalation and enhance leadership maturity.
  • Act as a positive influencer beyond risk management alone.

Workforce Strategy & Transformations

  • Provide structured, field-based insights and recommendations regarding workforce flexibility and evolution.
  • Support leaders in anticipating and managing the human impact of upcoming transformations.
  • Escalate to the HR Director when structural or cross-functional decisions are required, providing clear analysis of risks, options, and human impacts.

Psychological Health & Well-being

  • Act as HR co-lead in collaboration with the HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) team for the Saguenay site.
