Job Description:

Matlen Silver has partnered with a leading global financial services firm to recruit a Senior Capacity Planning consultant that will sit onsite hybrid 3 days onsite per week in a variety of approved client locations. In this role, the consultant will advise technology teams on system and application performance improvements and support capacity related BAU activities associated with financial audit requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in multiple projects and have a specific set of deliverables around Performance and Capacity including planning and management of mid-range IT systems and infrastructure
  • Communicate and provide capacity executive summaries to our partners and stakeholders including data analytics and capacity forecast models.
  • Review technical project documentation in an effort to identify performance and capacity impacts to the infrastructure. Projects identified with impact will be engaged and the candidate will provide support and consulting for the project(s) in question.
  • Work with other support teams to collectively provide forecasts and models for performance and capacity of impacted components. Once performance testing is underway, the candidate will review saturation test results and artifacts (e.g. AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Splunk, SAR/vmstat, application logs and Performance Center results) to measure and interpret capacity thresholds/limits.

Desired Experience:

  • 3-5 years of IT Infrastructure Capacity Planning and/or Management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capacity planning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of mathematical/statistical and quantitative analytics.
  • Experience with hardware Infrastructure, architecture and disaster recovery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL capacity management best practices COBIT framework.
