Job description

Description

Quality Enclosures is seeking an experienced, dependable Delivery Driver to transport products and related materials to customers and company locations.

This is not an entry-level driving position. Previous professional experience operating box trucks, straight trucks, commercial delivery vehicles, or similar large vehicles is required. Personal-vehicle delivery-app experience alone does not meet the experience requirement for this role.

Drivers load and secure their truck, complete assigned delivery routes, unload products, verify paperwork, and interact professionally with customers. Most routes follow a schedule, allowing drivers to become familiar with customers, delivery locations, and route expectations.

The right candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, physically capable, professional with customers, and able to manage route responsibilities without constant supervision.

Why Join Quality Enclosures?

  • Competitive pay
  • Full-time, stable employment
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Paid birthday day off
  • 401(k) with company match

We value teamwork, respect, reliability, and pride in quality work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned company vehicles safely, including 26' box trucks.
  • Load, organize, and secure glass products, shower-enclosure components, hardware, and related materials before departure.
  • Complete assigned customer-delivery routes and inter-facility transfers safely and efficiently.
  • Follow established routes, delivery schedules, customer instructions, and company procedures.
  • Verify products and quantities against delivery paperwork before leaving the facility and at each delivery location.
  • Obtain required signatures, delivery confirmations, and other documentation.
  • Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate trip records, inspection reports, delivery documents, and other required paperwork.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, leadership, and internal teams regarding deliveries, delays, access concerns, discrepancies, or other issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws, defensive-driving practices, company vehicle policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain professional conduct and an appearance appropriate for a customer-facing company representative.
  • Keep the assigned vehicle and cab clean through regular washing, vacuuming, wiping down interior surfaces, and promptly reporting any damage.
  • Assist with loading, warehouse tasks, product staging, or other related duties when needed.

What Success Looks Like

Successful drivers in this role:

  • Report to work consistently, on time, and prepared for the assigned route.
  • Complete deliveries safely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Protect products from damage during loading, transportation, and unloading.
  • Communicate early when delays, discrepancies, vehicle concerns, or customer issues arise.
  • Treat customers, teammates, and members of the public respectfully.
  • Maintain a professional presence while representing Quality Enclosures.
  • Take ownership of the vehicle, route, paperwork, and product in their care.
  • Work independently while following company procedures and delivery expectations.
  • Assist the team with loading and warehouse responsibilities rather than viewing the role as driving only.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous professional driving experience operating box trucks, straight trucks, commercial delivery vehicles, or similar large vehicles.
  • Valid driver's license is appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to meet company insurance and driving standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required DOT medical certification.
  • Ability to safely operate the assigned company vehicle.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and recognize basic safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Ability to read and follow route instructions, delivery paperwork, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and independent judgment.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to remain organized and manage multiple deliveries, documents, and priorities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely.
  • Flexibility to work the hours required to complete assigned routes and support business needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous professional experience operating box trucks, straight trucks, commercial delivery vehicles, or similar large vehicles is required; three years is preferred.
  • Relevant experience may include route delivery, commercial product delivery, distribution, building-material delivery, warehouse operations, load securement, DOT-regulated driving, or customer-facing delivery service.
  • Personal-vehicle food delivery, rideshare, or app-based courier experience alone does not meet the experience requirement.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to sit and remain alert for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to enter and exit a large box truck safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, secure loads, and load and unload products.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, reach, climb, and move materials as required.
  • Work may be performed in varying temperatures, weather conditions, warehouse environments, customer locations, and outdoor delivery areas.
  • Required Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in designated areas.

This job description includes, but is not limited to, the duties and responsibilities listed above. Essential functions may be modified or supplemented based on business needs. All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability.

Quality Enclosures is an Equal Opportunity Employer, E-Verify participant, and Drug-Free Workplace.
