Job description

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer to support and maintain enterprise middleware platforms in a large-scale production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM MQ, Kafka, OpenShift, WebSphere, Tomcat, and API technologies, along with experience supporting cloud-based integrations.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Middleware Administration/Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • IBM MQ
    • Kafka
    • OpenShift
    • IBM WebSphere
    • Apache Tomcat
    • IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE/IIB)
    • IBM DataPower & API Connect (APIC)
  • Experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or SQL.
  • Experience supporting both On-Prem and Cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Knowledge of Distributed Systems, Networking, Storage, and Databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, automation, and infrastructure configuration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, deploy, configure, monitor, and optimize enterprise middleware platforms.
  • Provide production support and resolve complex middleware issues.
  • Support IBM MQ, Kafka, OpenShift, WebSphere, Tomcat, API Connect, and DataPower environments.
  • Work closely with application development teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Perform middleware installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend capacity improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in cloud integration initiatives and infrastructure automation.
  • Support internal projects and ensure high availability of middleware services.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and automation frameworks.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
