Job description

What We Are Looking For
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Kinder Morgan Treating's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that the manufacture of gas treating products meets or exceeds customer requirements and complies with all applicable project specifications, drawings, codes, standards, regulations, and internal quality requirements.
This is an individual contributor role without direct reports, however this position provides leadership for quality assurance and quality control activities, oversees inspection and testing programs, manages quality personnel and systems, and drives continuous improvement across fabrication and manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote quality and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the QMS and QA/QC plans.
  • Manage inspections, audits, testing, product release, documentation, CAPA, supplier and customer quality, training, budgets, and quality personnel.
  • Lead root cause investigations and resolve nonconformities.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, NBIC, ISO, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance by gathering data and producing statistical and historical reports.
  • Organize and manage the quality assurance function with customers, vendors, and Kinder Morgan treating management.
  • Identify and deliver relevant quality assurance-related training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need
Education, Certifications, and Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in applied science, engineering, quality management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is required.
  • Working knowledge of NBIC and/or API 510 and ASME Section VIII required.
  • Certified Quality Auditor is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Experience and Specific Knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years of QA/QC experience ASME code (i.e., B31.3 and Section VIII, Div. 1) fabrication and manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, API Q1, ASME, NBIC, pressure vessels, piping, skid fabrication, quality system audits, and oil and gas manufacturing operations.

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and data management skills.
  • Ability to manage resources, conduct root cause analysis, make sound decisions, and maintain a strong commitment to safety, integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Working Conditions
  • Office and fabrication shop environment.
  • Ability to perform inspections in production areas, wear PPE, climb, bend, kneel, work in confined spaces, lift up to 20 pounds, travel occasionally, and respond to after-hours operational needs.
  • Must carry a mobile phone and be able and willing to respond at any hour of the day or night to all after-hours and/or weekend/holiday issues, including emergencies.
