Engineering Technician - AOI Operator (Weekend Shift, Contract)
Location: Malabar, FL, 32950, United States
Shift: Weekend (6AM-6PM)
Employment Type: Contractor - Level B
About the Role:
Join a dynamic production team as an Engineering Technician focused on Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) of circuit card assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in advanced electronics manufacturing, with a clear pathway to develop technical skills and contribute to product quality. Work under general supervision in a collaborative environment where your attention to detail ensures superior results.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor AOI equipment to inspect circuit card assemblies for compliance with quality and manufacturing standards
- Review inspection results, identify visible defects such as placement issues, solder faults, polarity errors, and missing components
- Accurately document inspection findings and escalate issues to supervisors or quality personnel as needed
- Work from technical drawings, inspection criteria, and work instructions to complete tasks precisely
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of AOI equipment and support production workflow
- Maintain high standards of quality and productivity throughout assigned tasks
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum four years of relevant hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing or two years post-secondary/Associate's Degree with up to two years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of AOI processes and circuit soldering
- Ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Effective communicator within a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AOI systems and recipe verification
- Familiarity with quality standards in electronics production
- Exposure to troubleshooting AOI equipment
