Job description

Amentum is seeking a Antenna Rigger Helper for a position on Kauai, HI. Under the general direction of a Supervisor or Lead-person, The Helper performs a variety of subprofessional duties and work related to the operation, maintenance, fabrication and alteration of facilities and equipment in the Antenna Rigger trade field at a semi-skilled level.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Antenna Riggers with the carrion control and repair of antenna towers and structures, UHF and VHF antennas, radars, microwave systems, wind direction poles and range marker.
  • Coordinates with members on other activities to ensure quality and timely accomplishment of assigned duties.
  • Responsible for care of Government equipment, tools, property and materials, and assures that they are properly maintained and safeguarded.
  • Performs specific task in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions and observes, safety, fire, health and work rules.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Physical Elements/ Environment
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination, able to climb and work on elevated structures and antenna towers up to 200 feet in height.
  • Outdoors environment. Required to perform periodic maintenance at off-island and remote locations.
  • Lifting, Pushing/Pulling: over 50lbs
  • Work positions requirements: Walking, Standing, Crawling, Kneeling, Cramped, and work requiring repeated stooping or frequent climbing.
  • Customer Contact, Extended Workday, Confined Work Area, Field Assignment, and Inclement Weather.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience
  • Two years experience in a direct or related work experience.
  • Must be capable of acquiring the skill and knowledge of proper and safe use of tools and equipment associated with the trade.
  • Must demonstrate ability to comprehend and following instructions at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance.
  • Must have had fall protection training.

Education
  • High School or equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of a military or recognized trade school or correspondence course preferred.
  • A minimum of two years apprenticeship or equivalent work experience may be substituted for formal schooling.
    Must have ability to obtain appropriate State and Government licenses.

Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
