Job Title: Mammogrpahy Technologist

Status: Full Time -Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM

Department: Radiology 

Location: Zephyrhills, FL

Position Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing mammography imaging services and related procedures by applying x-ray energy to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Essential Functions
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
• Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
• Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors, to achieve desired high-quality images for
interpretation.
• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensures that all breast anatomy is
demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Requires utilization of Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of
procedures done, and retrieval of reports.
• Utilizes sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training. Administers medical aid as required for
any emergency.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state,
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements.


Other Related Functions
• Follows established imaging processing procedures and techniques.
• Maintains a clean organized work area.
• Maintains well stocked rooms.
• Assures customer satisfaction.

• Prioritizes workload to manage multiple priorities.


Education/Training
• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Must have and maintain CME points as mandated by MQSA.


Licensure/Certification
• Valid Florida state license.
• Valid Radiology registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
