Job description

About Wispr
Wispr Flow is making it as effortless to interact with your devices as talking to a close friend.
Today, Wispr Flow is the first voice dictation platform people use more than their keyboards - because it understands you perfectly on the first try. It's context-aware, personalized, and works anywhere you can type, on desktop or phone.
In 2026, in addition to dictation, we're focused on building native actions - an agentic framework that understands you, and works reliably.
We're a team of AI researchers, designers, growth experts, and engineers rethinking human-computer interaction from the ground up. We value high-agency teammates who communicate openly, obsess over users, and sweat the details. We thrive on spirited debate, truth-seeking, and real-world impact.
We're grown our revenue +150% every quarter for the last 4 quarters, and have raised $81M from Tier 1 VC firms and other well-known angels.
About the Role
As a UI Engineer at Wispr, you'll own the craft layer of our product. This includes the surfaces, interactions, and details that turn a capable tool into one people love. You'll work directly with product and design to prototype, build, and ship polished interfaces across our voice platform and native actions framework. This is a role for someone who treats visual and interaction quality as a first-class engineering concern.
What are we looking for?
  • Exceptional UI/UX taste; You have strong opinions about what makes an interface feel right, and the ability to defend them.
  • Deep empathy for users; You think about how people actually use software, not just how they're supposed to.
  • Fluency in TypeScript, React, and CSS; Expressive, maintainable frontend code with real attention to detail.
  • Previous founding or startup experience.
  • Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
  • Aptitude and clarity of thought.
  • Creativity, excellence in engineering, and code velocity.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • A portfolio or body of work that demonstrates visual craft; specifically, side projects, open source, or shipped products with a clear point of view (send your best).
  • Incredible attention to detail on design, animations, and interaction fidelity.
  • Care towards code quality and UX - you notice when something feels off, and you fix it.
  • Experience with animation systems (Framer Motion, CSS transitions) and an eye for timing and feel.
  • Strong programming practices and high-throughput of code across the stack.
  • Outstanding team player and communicator.
