Job description

The Senior Creative Designer leads the strategy and execution of high-quality visual storytelling that elevates Purdue Federal Credit Union's brand. This role brings together advanced graphic design and video production to support marketing campaigns, member education, social media, corporate and internal communications. Serving as a senior creative partner within the Marketing team, this position ensures brand consistency, creative excellence and alignment with organizational goals while delivering engaging, compliant and audience-focused content.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Creative Strategy, Design & Storytelling
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of visual assets across print, digital, environmental, and motion platforms, translating marketing and communication objectives into compelling creative solutions.
  • Lead creative ideation for campaigns and initiatives, applying strong design judgment to ensure work is visually impactful, strategically sound and on brand.
  • Transform complex, regulatory, or technical information into clear, engaging, and member-friendly visual communications.

Video Production & Motion Content
  • Lead in-house video production from concept through final delivery, including concept development, storyboarding, filming and editing.
  • Produce video content for digital, social, corporate and internal communications.
  • Direct and coordinate video shoots with all involved parties while exercising creative discretion in lighting, framing, audio and pacing.
  • Ensure all video and motion content meets brand, quality, accessibility and compliance standards.

Photography
  • Provide photography support as needed to supplement marketing and communication initiatives, with the primary focus on design and video deliverables.
  • Capture basic portraits, product and lifestyle imagery when required, ensuring alignment with the credit union's visual brand.
  • Assist with image selection, light editing and asset management to maintain an organized, accessible library for team use.

Brand Management & Quality Control
  • Ensure brand consistency across all creative deliverables, including visual identity, tone and messaging.
  • Review, approve and refine creative assets to maintain accuracy, quality and brand integrity.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to uphold design standards across signage, displays, print production and digital executions.

Project, Vendor & Workflow Management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creativity, timelines and business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with external vendors as needed, including photographers, videographers, printers and signage vendors, to support production and manage specifications, proofs, budgets and final deliverables.
  • Ensure all creative assets meet disclosure, regulatory and compliance requirements while maintaining high design and production standards.

Professional Development
  • Maintain expertise in design, video, photography and emerging media trends through ongoing learning and skill development.
  • Seek feedback, adopt best practices and continuously improve creative processes in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
Additional Requirements:
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; experience with Premiere Pro and After Effects preferred.
  • Strong expertise in layout, typography, color theory, brand storytelling and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience with video editing, motion graphics, and basic animation for digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with video production equipment, including lighting and audio, with the ability to support or lead shoots.
  • Basic photography skills (DSLR and mobile) preferred, including experience capturing and editing images when needed.
  • Working knowledge of photography editing tools (e.g., Lightroom) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Collaborative, self-directed professional comfortable working independently and with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees, members, vendors, and external partners.
