Job description

Reporting to the Production Accountant, the Production Accounting Assistant provides administrative and accounting support for one or more animation productions. Working under the guidance of the Production Accountant, this role assists with day-to-day accounting processes, maintains financial records, and helps ensure production transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is interested in building a career in production accounting within a collaborative team that values learning, mentorship, and professional development.
Position Details
  • Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Employment
  • Location: Must live within the state of Texas; Option for working remote, studio or hybrid
  • Compensation: $50,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year
  • Contract Dates: August 24, 2026 - September 15, 2028
  • Potential for Extension: This position is expected to conclude at the end of the series production. Depending on future production needs and fit, there may be opportunities to extend employment.

Requirements
  • Assist the Production Accountant with accounts payable and accounts receivable for series productions.
  • Assist with preparing and processing payroll and timecards for SAG cast and above-the-line (ATL) personnel under the direction of the Production Accountant.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and payment schedules.
  • Update and maintain outsource payment schedules.
  • Enter expense data into SmartAccounting and help maintain accurate financial records.
  • Organize and maintain digital records of receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist the Production Accountant with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
  • Provide administrative and accounting support to the Production Accountant and Producers.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 1+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or related experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Chat, Sheets, Docs, Drive).
  • Experience with SmartAccounting preferred, but not required.
  • Interest in television, film, or animation production and a desire to develop a career in production accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information with discretion.
