Description Title: Lecturer (School of Cinematic Arts, 3D Animation) Position Number: Pending Hiring Unit: College of Arts, Languages & Letters, School of Cinematic Arts Location: Manoa Date Posted: September 03, 2026 Closing Date: Continuous Salary Information: Minimum salary: $2,053 per credit hour Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Other Conditions: For placement in the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2027 and Summer 2027. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. Appointments are offered on a semester basis.

Duties and Responsibilities Teach various 3-credit courses in 3D animation. Other related duties, including meeting course requirements as established by the department, preparing course syllabus, grading, and maintaining weekly office hours. Minimum Qualifications: MA or MFA degree in Animation or appropriate field from a college or university of recognized standing; Proficiency in industry-standard software suites and specialized applications, including: a.

Unreal Engine, Maya and Adobe Creative Suite, and b. ZBrush, Substance Painter, Maxon Cinema 4D or comparable software. Evidence of ability to teach effectively and direct group discussions; Demonstrated ability of professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.

Desirable Qualifications: Teaching experience at the college or university level; Professional industry experience and accomplishment in 3D animation as demonstrated through the creation, direction, and collaboration of projects that include 3D animation; Demonstrated knowledge and experience across the 3D animation production pipeline, including pre-visualization, modeling, texturing, rigging, character animation, visual effects (VFX), lighting, and rendering, with advanced expertise in one or more of these areas.
