Petcare Specialist / Kennel Technician / Animal Care Assistant
Job Description:
Hudspeth Animal Hospital Pet Hotel in Macon, GA is seeking a Petcare Specialist / Kennel Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in animal care, veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, or pet daycare who are passionate about delivering high-quality care.
Our pet hotel operates within a veterinary-supervised environment, offering a higher level of safety and medical oversight compared to traditional boarding facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care for dogs and cats (feeding, cleaning, exercise, monitoring)
  • Observe and report changes in animal health and behavior
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels and facility
  • Handle pets safely and confidently (large and small breeds)
  • Communicate with clients regarding pet care and services
  • Support inventory and supply management
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in animal care, kennel work, veterinary assisting, or pet daycare preferred
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and safe handling techniques

He grew up caring for a variety of species of animals; in fact, some of his first memories as a child involved caring for animals. His passion for animals and interest in veterinary medicine existed from a tender age. He focused on the sciences and worked hard to achieve his goal of becoming a veterinarian. He earned his doctorate in Veterinary medicine from St. George's university in 2012 after completing a clinical year at the University of Georgia. He is a member of the only honor society of veterinary medicine in the United States, Phi Zeta. He is dedicated to ensuring Hudspeth Animal Hospital will provide the best quality pet care to every pet that comes through our doors.
