Job description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and conduct clinical studies and programs for swine vaccine projects, including hypothesis-driven study design, protocol development/writing, study monitoring (including potential animal observations), data analysis/interpretation, and report/technical section/regulatory dossier writing.
  • Develop infectious disease swine models in appropriate age animals for vaccine efficacy testing; understand normal swine health/behavior for vaccine safety testing.
  • Ensure studies are conducted per applicable requirements, including SOPs, corporate policies, and regulatory guidelines (Good Clinical Practice and Good Laboratory Practice; some GLP work may be required).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Clinical and Project teams) to define/track study progress, activities, timelines, and outcomes; address resource/time/budget constraints with Project Manager/Team Leader.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs for protocol approval and support submissions to global regulatory agencies.
  • Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Provide hands-on expertise at laboratory and field study sites.
  • Prepare internal/external presentations and publications.
  • Support development of colleagues in Clinical and Project teams.
  • Occasional travel required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum: DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with experience in swine health.
  • Preferred: 3+ years as a swine practitioner and/or swine production experience, and/or PhD/MS in swine health/production animal discipline, and/or animal health industry swine clinical development experience; demonstrated leadership and mentoring.
SKILLS/TOOLS:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
