Job description

Job Title: QA Engineer (NQA-1) Location: Oak Ridge, TN Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite – onsite Responsibilities

  • Ensure activities affecting engineering, procurement, dedication/qualification, and manufacturing processes conform to the ASME NQA-1 standard for items and services provided to nuclear facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program.
  • Review project deliverables, procurement requisitions, and quality verification documents for compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal and external vendor audits as an NQA-1 auditor.
  • Identify, evaluate, and track nonconforming items or processes and develop/maintain corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear quality frameworks such as 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent military experience. Degree not required for individuals with 5+ years of NQA-1 experience.
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in NQA-1 Quality Assurance.
  • Willingness to achieve Lead Auditor certification (not required but preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR Part 21, and industry standards such as EPRI and IEEE.
  • Strong technical writing, professional collaboration, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Infrequent travel support for audits and surveys.
