Are you an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant looking for a hospital where your skills are valued and your team feels like family? Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital and Elkins Park Veterinary Hospital are looking for a compassionate, motivated team member to join our growing practice.

Our two locations work together as one collaborative team, providing high-quality veterinary care to small animals and exotics. Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital is located in Northeast Philadelphia, while Elkins Park Veterinary Hospital is just 20 minutes away in Montgomery County. Together, our five-doctor team is dedicated to practicing exceptional medicine while building lasting relationships with our clients and patients.

Whether you're an experienced Veterinary Technician or a seasoned Veterinary Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside supportive doctors and teammates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where learning and professional growth are encouraged.

What You'll Do

As a member of our medical team, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians throughout the day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist veterinarians during appointments and treatments
  • Obtain patient histories and record accurate medical information
  • Safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures
  • Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory samples
  • Run in-house laboratory diagnostics
  • Fill prescriptions and maintain pharmacy inventory
  • Obtain high-quality digital radiographs
  • Assist with hospitalized patient care and treatments
  • Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Maintain accurate medical records using Impromed software
  • Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and equipment clean and organized
  • Provide compassionate, professional client service throughout each visit

Experience with anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry is a plus but not required.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in providing outstanding patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
  • Experience in a small animal veterinary practice required
  • Comfortable performing venipuncture, laboratory procedures, radiology, and pharmacy duties
  • Strong communication and client education skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support teammates
  • Flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and rotating Saturdays
  • Exotic animal experience is a plus, but not required
